Digitized directly from vinyl 33 rpm LP using an Audio Technica USB turntable, recorded directly into Sound Forge (many thanks to the Wizard for his generous loan of the turntable). The files were topped and tailed, and obvious clicks and skips were removed if possible.
Synclavier test record
This was released in 1981. I once had a dream to be the only person in the city to have a Synclavier; the trick was to find someone to buy it for me. That’s an insane story for another time. These records are scarce. They were pressed on transparent blue vinyl, but I think that is detrimental to the surface quality since even though I’ve only played it a handful of times, it has quite a bit of crackle.
